Brokeback Browns

By some unfortunate turn of events, both Todd and I are having back troubles.  He was bent in a crescent moon shape for almost two weeks, despite Urgent Care and chiropractic visits and muscle relaxers.  I can barely walk (and when I do, the pain is excruciating) due to some pulled, strained, or angry muscles in my lower back/hip area which is throwing my hips out of alignment, coupled with sciatica from my pregnancy running down the other side of my body. I would love to be able to take a muscle relaxer or something stronger than tylenol if I weren't pregnant, if only to feel like I was maybe getting better.  After 5 days and one chiropractic visit during which the chiropractor was having a hard time adjusting me given my enlarged baby belly and the high amount of relaxin running through my body, I still feel as worse as I did days ago...only with less optimism.  Both Todd and I have reported not having time for "this crap", as we've got too many physical items we need to take care of (in the middle of a master bath remodel and turning the guest room into a baby's room) on top of parenting an energetic, never-still, near-5 yr old.  So frustrating!  I told Todd at least the baby isn't here, yet, because neither of us would be able to get up and take care of anything.  The bright side is I'm encouraging a lot more independence for Boden--he's resistant as it is so much better when mom does things for him, but in this current state, it takes me longer to do whatever it is than him, so his options are  to wait patiently (not that good at) or argue with me (he's really good at this) and then do it himself.

My first cavity

Oh oh.  I can hardly believe this sweet smile has cavities.  I wanted to cry when the dentist told me.  Not only because it will require two appts (and I can think of better ways to spend our summer Monday mornings) to take care of these between the teeth cavities and it costs at least an arm for the dental work; but we take care of those little chompers: I rarely give Boden fruit juice or chewy snacks (I know these pop up elsewhere, but I don't think it's a regular thing), chewy candy is always banned on the premises AND we floss; not daily, mind you, but geez.  I've told him no more fruit snacks if they are offered at school (because they certainly aren't  brushing afterwards) and I guess we need to bump up the flossing at home.

On the bright side, he did fantastic at his appointment, got an A for good looking gums and no tartar buidlup, and he even did a great job cooperating for his first x-rays, even though it took a few tries and was a little uncomfortable.
