Saturday afternoon--this being the time at which her regular vet was no longer available until Monday at 8--It appeared things were not going so well. I noticed her ear, which the vet had removed two growths from, was in rough shape (ie oozing, gross, bloody, loose flaps of skin). We knew her eat would need to be stitched up but didn't need to pay ER vet prices so we cleaned her up, rubbed on some antibiotic cream, and put the cone on her head until the vet could fix her up. End result after her embarrassing and anxiety filled visit to the vet on Monday: 2 staples in her ear to close one of the flaps, one owie was cauterized, and she earned the right to wear the "cone of shame" for two more weeks. Oh, dear.

Doggy Dentistry
Earlier this week Sloan went in to get a lump removed from her gum line, get her teeth cleaned, and have some wart-y like growths on her ear removed. Her usual reaction to going to the vet is hysteria and this trip was no exception. Even though she was coming off her sedation she was still amped up when she got home and had quite an evening trying to settle down. Now, she seems to be recovering well and is doing her best to outsmart us when it's time to take her antibiotic. Here she is unwilling to show off her pearly whites to the camera.

Not a dog toy
I caught Sloan playing inside the baby activity may the other day. She got hrself trapped and basically ended up looking ridiculous. From the look on her face in the picture, I think she recognized this was going to be used against her :)
