Shambles.

That's what our house is in. We are finally remodeling the kitchen. Our silverware is in Todd's office, the microwave is in the pantry, the cereal is in the laundry room--ugh. The kitchen is the hub of the home around which all things center. When it's uprooted, everything else falls apart, too. It's just bad feng shui.

Todd has been talking (threatening) about renovating the core of our kingdome for months--I figured if I could hold him off until hunting season I would be able to skirt this upheaval of hearth and home for another year. Not that I don't want the kitchen done--are you kidding?! If I were a genie, I'd wrinkle my nose and make it happen in a second. But just thinking about the mess and the disorganization has been enough to stave off my simple desires for a hood that doesn't buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz noisily when it's on and an oven that fits a standard size sheet pan.

We're in the thick of it, though, and all I can do is make sure sheet rock crumbles and nails stay out of Boden's mouth. When it's all finished, the new kitchen will be glorious, our world will be back in balance and our qi will be positive again. Right now, it just sucks.
