Retraction

I guess one thing you learn really quick when you're dealing with a newborn is that what works one day (or minute) doesn't always work the next. For example, that whole pacifier thing--worked like a dream when we first tried it...in fact, we hailed it as our savior. Hmph. Hasn't worked since. Last night, Boden spit the pacifier so far out that it bounced across the room and under the sofa; Todd had to get the broom out so he could retrieve it from the dark underbelly of the sofa. We basically have no "sure thing" that soothes Boden 100% of the time (not even 80%) and a bag of a bunch of tricks that sometimes work and sometimes don't...this would be so much easier if Boden could speak English instead of this foreign Babyese. Eight weeks in, things are going so well that Todd has volunteered for a vasectomy and is threatening to do it himself some nights (note to grandparents--spoil this kid because we won't be producing many more of these).
