Wow, time is flying by and standing still at the same time: it feels like Boden is growing so fast and that he's been in our lives forever, but I can remember bringing him home from the hospital like it was yesterday.
Boden turned 11 weeks old on Thursday. He's so alert now and has a lot more pleasant, happy moments. He has begun to reach for things (in an aimless, jerky, slightly uncontrolled kind of way), is mimicking faces (most notably he and Grandma Brown spent a lot of time sticking their tongues out at one another when she was here on Wednesday), he loves to stand up on his feet and, conversely, repels even the idea of being on his tummy. Honestly, if I say "wanna' go on your tummy, honey?", his face gets all screwed up in a sign of anguish and displeasure. Hopefully, he gets over this because I'm pretty sure he's not going to be able to get to a standing position from his back if he doesn't learn to be on his tummy, then his knees, then his feet. He'll be 8 years old and we'll have to pick him up from the floor and stand him on his feet like he's a turtle if he doesn't learn to enjoy tummy time a little better!
Boden still doesn't have the sleep thing down, yet--some nights, he goes to bed at 7:30 and is out until midnight then up every 2 hours thereafter and some nights he goes to be at 10:30, wakes up at 3 and then 6 (that's perfect). We'll figure it out, I guess...yawn.
Last night, while I was nursing him at 3 I thought of all I was going to put in this post--it was really funny and a good story...now I can't remember what the heck it was going to be about!! I'll have to jot down notes, next time. My tired momma brain can't keep it all together, I guess.
The attached video is Boden chatting away with me...as you can tell, I can hardly get a word in.
