Frozen Fun

This month started off with Boden's first official entry in a race--the Lifetime Commitment Day Run on New Year's Day.  It was about 5 degrees out and we had him as bundled up as we could possibly get him (a la Ralphie's little brother in "A Christmas Story") and still pack him into the stroller.  It was a 5k RUN/WALK and Todd and I did our best to finish the race as fast as possible while pushing the stroller to get him to the finish and back in the car.
We also kicked off the new year by starting swimming lessons on Wednesday nights.  I'm not enthused about the timing because it makes for a long and hectic evening, but we've been to three lessons so far and Boden seems to be enjoying them.  It seems like a much different experience from when I took swimming lessons (yes, they had pools 30 years ago).

Todd also got a snowmobile this year--something I never thought I'd say since I've known him almost 20 years and I never would have pictured it.  As it turns out, Boden loves riding with his dad which makes Todd love it even more.  Below is a pic of Todd and Mini Me before they headed out on an after work, before bed ride.
During a recent and heavy snowfall, Boden and I decided to build a snowman.  Being an fiercely independent (read: bullheaded) pre-schooler, I was barely allowed to help and few of my ideas were taken into consideration because what on Earth would I know about building a snowman??  Uck--I just know this is payback for being a know-it-all, sassy kid!  Anyway, Boden was happy with his very first snowperson...sadly, Frosty expired today due to extreme heat stroke.
