That's what the breastmilk incident this past week will forever be associated with...as in "Remember when I had to toss over 100 ounces of breastmilk out after the Great Thaw of 2009?". Yep, hours of pumping literally down the drain after a malfunction with our freezer wreaked havoc on our frozen goods.
Since we were approaching Boden's 1st birthday (the big ONE), I figured I could get a little more creative with the extra milk. I was looking into making cheese and/or yogurt with the mama juice. Now, don't worry, friends, I would have reserved all the breast-milk containing bounty for Boden's mouth only. While it's not the end of the world, it feels like the end of something...the end of my son's infancy, the end of lugging around the unsightly breast pump? I don't know what, yet, because I am still nursing him, but this sudden change in plans for the little plastic bags of carefully cared for frozen milk was a little depressing.
Luckily, Boden doesn't have a milk allergy, so whole cow's milk was in his near future--just nearer than I thought. Like, starting today.
