For some reason, Boden finds "fake" sneezing hilarious...so I was finally able to get a video of his sweet little laugh. In reviewing the video, it makes me realize that the crazy, scream-y nights are totally worth it. He's an awesome kid.
He turned 7 months old yesterday--I started thinking about some of his behaviors and what it would be like if I applied those behaviors to my life. For example, if Boden doesn't like something you're doing--usually to him (putting his arms into pajamas, coats, onesies...etc, spoon-feeding him when he wants to do it himself, wiping his runny nose or crusty face--gosh, so many examples)--he lets you know about it by just yelling in an aaaaaaah, aaaaaaah, even-toned shout. I think it might be fun--and effective--to give this a try at work by interrupting or responding to somebody's stupid idea/plan with a slow shout out. e.g. "Michelle, you're going to need to work through the weekend (aaah, AAAAAHHHH!)...uh, I'm getting the sense that's not going to work for you.". Perfect, it's short, to the point, and clearly conveys, "hey, that's not working for me". I encourage others to give this a try and let me know how it works out for you.
