My first babysitter

Todd and I went out on a date night last Saturday while a friend of mine baby sat Boden. I had absolutely no anxiety about Boden...I was concerned for Ann :) (Picture is Ann and Boden before we left)

Since his last pediatrician visit, Boden had not been sleeping...waking up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours--sometimes for food, sometimes for fun, sometimes to scream. I was hoping he would be asleep before we left but Ann kicked us out of the house right after I finished nursing him--he was drowsy but that can last for hours. And it did. She finally got him to sleep at around 8, then he woke up at 9:30 and the night went downhill from there.

But, funny story about date night: I made reservations for 4 and we were planning to meet another couple. We got to the restaurant early and sat at the bar. Our res was at 7:00 and at about 7:05, even though our friends hadn't arrived, I asked if we could be seated so all the "good" tables didn't disappear. At 7:10 I called my friend's cell phone, she didn't answer and I left a message "Hey, we're sitting down, we'll watch for you". At 7:30, I said to Todd, I bet they're at the wrong restaurant. When she and I were talking about what restaurant to go to, two came up and it would be TOTALLY like her to get confused. So, I left another message "Hey, I think we're at different restaurants. Ha ha. Call me!". I told Todd we could go to the other restaurant or just stay and eat. We stayed and ate. On our way home, my friend finally called and said "what the heck! Your message says we had reservations at 7:00 at Hazelwood." (Todd and I went to Axel's) "You have mom-brain!" The real kicker is that Tim, my friend's husband, griped at her the whole night convinced that she screwed up the meeting place. She played my voicemail for him confirming our reservations at Hazelwood when they got home. Oops...I totally owe them and will NEVER live this one down. I still claim they are partly to blame as neither of them had their cell phones with--the whole situation could have been remedied via a text message. Who's with me?
