Catching zzzzs

I don't want to toot my own horn, but I've been able to get Boden to sleep in his crib a couple of times during his morning and afternoon naps--yea. Now that I've written this down, I will likely spend the next couple weeks battling with him to get him to stay asleep when I set him in his crib. Today, he even fell asleep on his own after I put him in his crib to put some laundry away! Oh, glorious day!

Last week, I couldn't even get him to stay asleep in his bassinet during the night for two horrible nights that I like to call the Taste of Hell. I would nurse him, he would fall asleep afterwards, and I would place him ever so gently into his bassinet--then, his eyes would POP! right open and he would start fussing and eventually cry. Tricks like putting my hand on his tummy and gently rocking him side to side, ducking out of sight immediately after putting him in, and leaving one hand in the bassinet on his back or near his head until he settled again were not working...I spent many nights with a baby on my chest and visions of laying in bed with a 10 year old Boden draped across me refusing to sleep in his bed. Perhaps that was just a phase, or now actually sleeping in his crib and bassinet are just phases--it's hard to tell, yet. We'll see what the next week brings.

I now hear my son bellaring--but that was after 25 minutes of napping in his crib!
